We collect no data
Qinglu does not collect, upload or share any personal information or usage data. There is no account, no analytics and no advertising.
Screen recording data
When. Qinglu records the screen only while you are recording: after you start a recording of the window, area or screen you choose, until you press Done or Cancel. A red frame and a timer are shown the whole time. Nothing is captured in the background.
What. The picture of the window, area or screen you chose; system audio and microphone audio if you turned them on; and the pointer position, clicks and the times keys are pressed (never which keys).
Use. This data is used only to make your video on your Mac — zooming toward the pointer, trimming, styling, annotations and GIF export. It is not used for analytics, advertising, tracking or any other purpose.
Sharing. Screen recording data never leaves your Mac through Qinglu. It is not sent to us or shared with any third party. You decide yourself whether to share the videos you make.
Storage and retention. Everything is stored only on your Mac, in your Movies/Qinglu folder. Finished videos are kept until you delete them. The raw recording kept for re-rendering is deleted automatically after 7 days. Deleting a recording in Qinglu removes its files.
Why Qinglu asks for permissions
- Screen & System Audio Recording: to record the window, area or screen you choose, and system audio.
- Microphone (optional): to record your narration.
Qinglu records only the pointer position and clicks, to decide where the camera zooms. For the keyboard it records only when a key was pressed — never which key.

The Lifetime Unlock is bought through Apple's App Store. Payment details are handled by Apple and are never visible to us.
